Lyden av Prøysen was a commission work celebrating the 100 year anniversary for the Norwegian folk singer and poet Alf Prøysen. Its a collaboration between me and Sigurd Hole, and was initiated by Torbjørn Bækkevold/ Musikk i Hedmark. It was premiered in August 2014 with two concerts at Hamar Kulturhus, and the original work includes three vocalists (Frida Ånnevik, Jørn Simen Øverli and Kim Rysstad), Bass clarinet (Håvard Lund), saxophone (Rolf-Erik Nystrøm), two drummers (Knut Aalefjær and Birger Mistereggen), Guitar (Hallgrim Bratberg), bass (Sigurd Hole), piano (me) and a string quartet (Bjarne Magnus Jensen, Ida Kristine Hansen, Anders Nilsson and Audun Sandvik).
The two concerts (and the general rehearsal) was recorded by Jan Erik Kongshaug (Rainbow Studio), and was later released on the album “Lyden av Prøysen” (Grappa).
Later on we did a few concerts as a sextet, with vocalist Frida Ånnevik.
